There are two complementary engines: the credit engine and the decision engine.The credit engine is responsible for calculating a score and a recommended credit limit from the customer's profile and history, producing in seconds a number that would otherwise take an analyst hours of manual work to reach. The decision engine goes one step further: it applies automated business rules over the customer's data — credit policies, approval authorities, sector or geographic restrictions — to automatically suggest or set the outcome of the analysis, such as approving, declining, or routing the case to human review.Together, the two engines bring scale and consistency to the credit pipeline. Scale, because the same policy is applied identically to hundreds or thousands of cases, without the risk of fatigue, one-off bias, or diverging interpretation between analysts. Consistency, because the decision bar is always the same: two customers with the same profile receive the same treatment, which strengthens credit-granting governance and makes future audits easier. Automating what is repetitive and predictable also has a direct effect on the team: it frees analysts from the mechanical work of checking and calculating so they can devote their time to the cases that truly require human judgment — atypical situations, policy exceptions, or risk profiles that fall outside the norm.
